Polliwog Puppets Presentations and Workshops |
|
You're never too old for fun!
At Senior Citizens
Clubs and Adult Day Activity Centres, hands-on puppet
workshops are presented in a fun and intelligent way and
provide something different and entertaining, even
therapeutic.
Most people have
owned a puppet at some stage of life, but have you ever known
how to make one come to life?
It's an opportunity
to hear how puppets are being used in education to teach
children basic concepts and communication and social skills.
Its also a chance to clown around and have a laugh (and behave
like a child if you want to.)
Nursing Home
residents will love remembering a time when puppet shows
were a common form of entertainment. Everyone will
marvel at how lifelike these puppets become.
The intention of
the workshop is to relate to participants as adults.
Please feel free to phone and discuss your groups specific
requirments.

Funky Folk
Billy
Brown, Miss Sunshine, Mr Pink
Bob Blue, Ms Primrose, Professor Green
and Sweet Sally |
The Funky
Folk are large lightweight, full-bodied puppets
which are operated using arm rods.
These guys
get people up and moving. We bring our
collection of popular and "old time" music and offer
an opportunity to participate in the singing and
dancing, using the Funky Folk of course.
It allows
for creative movement and emotional expression.
There's
something for everyone!
This is a
small part of Workshop 1, it provides exercise and
entertainment, it is stimulating and above
all....it's heaps of fun! |

Workshop 2
(follow-up
Sessions)
Create a Puppet
Make a
glitzy puppet for a loved one or to keep for
yourself if you can't bear to part with it!
These
puppets are simple to make but they are stunning and
very individual when finished. Using feathers,
fur, felt, foam, tinsel and sequins, these are very glamourous, workable marionettes. There is
lots of room for creative expression.
Practical,
tactile, imaginative and creative.
Allow
approx 1 hour.
Staff help
required.
All materials
supplied. |
